On Christmas Eve, he went to visit a family dressed as Santa Claus.

Jimmie is survived by his wife of 40 years, Roberta Jean of Spring Valley; step-daughter Tracy Jo (Donald) Jenkins of Columbus, Ohio; two step-granddaughters, Caitlyn and Melanie Jenkins of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Vicki Tate of Spring Valley; one nephew and two nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents Burton and Harriet “Lil” Heckerson, and several aunts and uncles.
