Jeffrey D. Holmen, 38, of LeRoy, Minn., passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021, in Greeley, Colo., due to injuries sustained in a car accident.
Jeffrey David Holmen was born in Spring Valley, Minn., on March 8, 1983, to Kenneth and Kimberly (Van Tries) Holmen. He graduated from LeRoy-Ostrander High School in 2001. He worked for a few hog farms as a breeder manager and later found his calling as a caregiver for Lutheran Social Services. Jeff was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hiking, and camping, as well as visiting numerous national parks. He was a single dad and spending time with his family and four children meant the world to him.
Jeff is survived by his children Dylan Holmen, Katelyn Holmen, Devan Holmen, and Karissa Holmen, all of LeRoy; parents Ken and Kim Holmen of LeRoy, sister Amber Bennett of Austin, Minn., and nephews Dustin and Andrew.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Kenneth Holmen Sr. and maternal grandmother Shirley Van Tries.
A public visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Friday, November 26, 2021, at the LeRoy Community Center.
