Janice (Anderson) Christopherson, 92 of Spring Valley, Minn., died on July 31, 2024, at Spring Valley Living.
Janice Yvonne Anderson was born to O. Vinton and Jennie (Daily) Anderson in Cresco, Iowa, on May 29, 1932, living in and attending school in Ostrander, Minn., before graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1950. She married Roy Christopherson on October 20, 1963 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ostrander. Janice worked at the dental office of Dr. Harry Esklund, the Spring Valley Sales Company and Spring Valley Public Utilities.
Jan was active in her church (Our Savior’s Lutheran Church), WELCA, Altar Guild, Mary Circle; in numerous community organizations including Historic Bluff Country, Spring Valley Historical Society, Ostrander Cemetery Association, American Cancer Society, Legion Auxiliary, and Order of the Eastern Star. She and Roy were Spring Valley Citizens of the Year in 2004. She was a proud Spring Valley resident, enjoyed talking with people and listening to polka music. Jan seemed to find a connection to everyone she met. She enjoyed a good bingo game, coffee and talking about her granddaughter Hannah.
Jan is survived by her husband of 60 years, Roy of Spring Valley; daughter Jodi (Larry) Greenstein of Minneapolis, Minn., son Mark of Austin, Minn., and beloved granddaughter Hannah Greenstein of Minneapolis. She is also survived by her Anderson and Daily cousins and their families, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Norman and Shirley Bergman, sisters-in-law Helen Stier and Joanne Christopherson, many nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents O. Vinton and Jennie Anderson, sister Patricia Anderson, special cousin Eileen (Anderson) Johnson, sister-in-law Mildred Payne, brothers-in-law Doyle Payne, Jerry Stier and Dennis Christopherson.

Funeral services for Jan will be held 11 a.m. Monday August 5, 2024, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Spring Valley with Rev. Jolene Knudson-Hanse officiating. Burial will be in the Ostrander Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday August 4 from 2-4 p.m., also at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Monday.
