Nine-Man #9 Mabel-Canton rolled up 461 yards on the ground and 570 yards total offense in beating Faribault B.A. 62-19. Isaac Underbakke had three scores (one passing, two rushing) while the Kales (Tollefsrud and Eiken) each topped 100 yards on the ground with two rushing touchdowns. Spring Grove got the game-winning score with two-minutes to play to top W-K 26-14. M-C (4-0, 4-0) and Kingsland (4-0, 4-0) lead SG (3-1, 3-1) and Houston (3-1, 3-1) atop the South-East. Caledonia blanked Dover-Eyota 18-0, as Will Allen tossed a trio of touchdowns passes and Coby Hammell caught one and had 109 yards receiving. Grand Meadow out-scored Lanesboro 20-0 in the second half to post its first win, 26-7. Caledonia volleyball avenged two losses last year by beating Cotter 3-1. Avery Augedahl had 34 assists, Aubrie Klug 34 digs. The Warriors also beat PEM in TRC action. Fillmore Central also topped PEM while losing to #4 in Class AAA Stewartville in five sets (25-23, 22-25, 14-25, 25-23, 11-15). Madi Zwart had 23 kills, Josie Corson 35 digs, and Kyla Hellickson 21 digs in the loss. FC then took third at the Class A Showcase, going 4-1. Hellickson notched her 2,000th career dig and made the All-Tourney team. Caledonia went 3-2 at the Class AA Showcase, taking ninth place. Klug was named All-Tourney. Chatfield swept L-A and D-E in TRC action. Harper Goldsmith had 30 assists versus the Eagles. The Gophers then went 3-2 at the AA Showcase, taking third. Trindy Barkeim made the All-Tourney team. Caledonia (6-0, 15-3), now ranked #6 in AA, and Fillmore Central (5-0, 13-4), ranked #3 in A, lead the TRC ahead of Rushford-Peterson (4-1, 7-2), the #4 in AA Gophers (4-2, 12-6), and D-E (3-2, 10-3). M-C (7-0, 20-3), ranked #7 in A, went 3-2 to take seventh place at the A Showcase. Kinley Soiney was All-Tourney team. Houston volleyball topped Lanesboro in five sets (18-25, 25-22, 9-25, 25-23, 15-12). Cadence Koehler had 42 digs and Emmie Melbo 22 digs for the Hurricanes. Emma Ruen had 35 assists and 23 digs for Lanesboro. Ellie Howard then had 22 digs as the Burros swept Southland. Meah Stevens had 30 assists and L-O topped G-E 3-1. LARPH’s boys cross country won a home four-team meet. Grayson Speltz, Isaac Rasmussen and Trey Hegland finished 1-2-3. Autumn Rakosnik won the girls race to help LFC to that title. LARPH gal Caitlin Bauer took third and said event and then fifth at the Winona Jim Flim Meet.
