Caledonia’s girls topped TRC foes Rushford-Peterson 76-53 and La Crescent/Hokah 81-47 on the week while losing to #2 in AAA Stewartville 66-57. The win over the Trojans clinched the Warriors (13-0, 18-6) the outright TRC-East title over Cotter/HL (11-3, 14-9), R-P (6-5, 14-8), FC (6-6, 13-9), and LC/H (2-11, 8-16). Warrior senior guard Aubrie Klug scored 25, 31, and 29 points. She hit seven threes versus the Trojans and Lancers, has 16 games of 25 or more points this year. It was Cal’s fourth straight East crown. Grace Schroeder scored 26 as Chatfield topped W-K 66-51. Amaya Harmening then scored 20 but the Gophers fell to PEM 55-45. Hailee Warren scored 21 as Kingsland topped GM 54-46. Aubry Boldt scored 23 and 21 but Houston fell to Southland 73-50 and Z-M 75-42. Gracie Foster scored 20 but GM fell to Alden-Conger/G-E 66-63. Chatfield boys’ basketball continued its strong season with two wins in three tries. Carson Harstad scored 26 in an 84-59 win over W-K. Harstad and Ross Stoehr each scored 27 in a win over PEM 82-72. The Gophers did lose to D-E 86-79, Harstad scoring 29 and Brandt McBroom 25. The Gophers have gone 11-2 after a 3-6 start. Chatfield (9-4 in the TRC, 14-8 overall) and L-A (8-3, 16-5) top the TRC-East. Grant King scored 27 as Caledonia topped La Crescent/Hokah 86-81. GMLOS wrestling swept a triangular at NRHEG, topping the Panthers 54-23 and Maple River/USC 37-36 on most matches won tiebreaker. Drake Payne had a pin (215) and Wyatt Krull (285) a decision to tie match 36-36. Caledonia/SG/Houston gymnast Vivian Kittleson finished third on the floor exercise to earn All-league at the conference meet.
