Caledonia’s sixth-ranked boys beat PEM 85-42, as four Warriors made double figures. Brad King’s group (5-0, 10-2) picked up its 10th win. They sit a half game back of La Crescent/Hokah (6-0, 10-4) in the TRC-East. Spring Grove beat GM 82-8. Notably, standout Lions senior Elijah Solum returned to the court (9 points) after a torn ACL last spring. The Lions (6-1, 8-1) lead the SEC-East over Houston (3-4, 5-5) and M-C (3-4, 4-7). Greg Kennedy had a crazy line (19 pts, 8 rebs, 6 stls, 6 blks) as FC’s boys won their third straight via an 83-67 victory over G-E. Luke Hellickson set the FC boys’ three-point make record but the Falcons fell to Lewiston-Altura 61-59. Kinley Soiney had 25 points as Spring Grove’s girls topped Southland 63-48. The Lions got to 10 wins. Houston handled a depleted Lanesboro (4-2, 8-6) by a 62-17 final. Spring Grove (6-0, 10-2) leads the SEC by a half game over the Hurricanes (5-0, 8-5). Josie Foster scored 21 points to power Caledonia (6-1, 9-4) past PEM (6-2, 8-7) in a key TRC battle. Lexy Foster scored 24 and Lauren Queensland 21 as GM (4-3, 8-5) won their third straight game by beating W-K 61-40. GMLOS’ Braxten Wiste (22-4) won 160-pounds at Stewartville “Darrell Jaeger” Invite. Bulldogs Brandy Christensen (118), Diann Smith (136), and Zoe Steinkamp (112) won titles on the girl’s side of things, as the trio was 11-0 with 11 pins. The week saw two-plus days’ worth of games wiped out by bad weather.
