Tristan Augedahl pitched a 14-strikeout three-hit shutout, as Caledonia baseball beat #8 in AA Plainview-Elgin-Millville 1-0. Ty Sexton pitched a two-hit shut-out as Fillmore Central/Lanesboro beat Caledonia 3-0. Thane Meiners and Augedahl then combined for one-hit shut-out, as Caledonia beat FC/L 6-0 in game two of the doubleheader. Meiners had 13 strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings. Dustin Copley pitched four innings and recorded all 12 outs by strikeout, as GMLOK baseball beat Houston 9-4. Spring Grove then beat Houston 12-2 to improve to 3-0. Jaiden Zimmerman went 4-for-4 and Claire Springer struck out 10 in picking up her third pitching win as Chatfield softball beat Lewiston-Altura 11-1. The Gophers (2-0, 4-0) stayed perfect. Mabel-Canton softball beat Alden-Conger/Glenville Emmons 19-13 and 15-14 in a doubleheader action. Hope Erickson had four RBI in game one. M-C trailed 13-5 in game two, but had a nine-run inning. Molly Lee had the walk-off game-winning RBI-double. The combined scores of M-C’s first three games is 48-42 (all teams have scored at least 13 runs)! Cougars are 2-0, 2-1. Ellie Ekern homered to help Rushford-Peterson softball to an 8-6 win over L/P in the Trojans Saturday tourney. R-P fell to GMLOK in the title game. The LFCMC boys 4×800 relay (Carson Ruen, Isaac Snyder, Luke Ruen, Jayce Kiehne) set the school record (8:26.52) at the Stewartville Relays. Jake Fishbaugher shot a 38 at MaCalGrove to lead FC boys golf over Caledonia. The girls golf battle between the teams was won by FC by one stroke, 216 to 217. R-P’s boys also nipped FC 191 to 195 while GMLO’s boys nipped Houston (221 to 226) in tight golf matches.
