It was a week of overtime basketball games. Chatfield’s girls fell to PEM 65 to 60 in double OT in a key TRC-West affair. In a key East game, Caledonia’s girls fell 76-71 to Cotter in overtime despite Sadie Treptow scoring 25 points and Ava Privet 20. FC’s boys fell to North Fayette at the Border Battle, 68-65 in overtime, despite Jayce Kiehne’s 25 points. The sophomore also had a career-high 30 in a loss to La Crescent/Hokah 83-58. Finally, R-P’s boys fell 47-45 in overtime to LC/H. The Trojans also fell 49-48 in regulation to Decorah at the Border Battle. R-P was ranked #3 in A after beating Hayfield. The #3 in AA Caledonia boys stayed perfect with easy wins over Cotter (86-37) and FC (86-48), a non-con win over Applington-Parkersburg 70-61 (Border Battle). Chris Pieper scored 26 points versus FC, Jackson Koepke 24 versus A-P. The Warriors are 2-0, 5-0. Caledonia/Houston wrestling stayed perfect (2-0, 5-0) by beating LARP (44-34) and Century (61-12). Simon Seymour (#10 at 120), Brandon Ross (#1 at 126), Owen Denstad (#9 at 132), Isaac Blocker (#3 at 138), and Tucker Ginther (#6 at 145) are state ranked for the Warriors. SG’s boys out-scored Southland 33-15 in the second half to prevail 59-37. The Lions (2-0, 3-1) lead the SEC-East. R-P’s Kaylee Ruberg scored 38 points, one shy of a Trojan record, in a 65-47 win over L/P. Ruberg also scored 27 as the Trojans posted a good win over LC/H 60-52. Addyson McHugh had 21 points as SG’s girls beat M-C 45-38. Jordian Leahy then scored 23 points as the Lions beat Southland 54-45.  The Lions (3-1, 3-5) lead the SEC-East over Lanesboro (2-1, 5-3). Tanner Olson scored 23 as L-O’s boys lost to Faribault B.A. 58-50. Parker Storhoff scored 21 as Lanesboro lost 59-55 to Schaeffer.
