Kingsland volleyball won two SEC matches on the week. Ellie Buchholtz had 14 kills and 13 digs in the win over L/P, 22 kills in a win over G-E. Alyssa Link supplied 59 total assists. GM volleyball went 2-0 also. Hailey Hindt had 16 kills and 18 digs in a tough 3-1 win over L-O. Cardinal Gracie O’Byrne had 25 digs in defeat. Hindt then had 16 kills and 16 digs in a sweep of Southland. Sister Madison Hindt combined for 9 kills, 39 assists, 22 digs, and 8 aces in the two wins. The Knights (4-1) lead the West over GM (3-2), L-O (2-3), G-E (1-4), L/P (1-4) and Southland (1-4). Jordan Runde had 16 kills and 15 digs as L-O (2-3) rebounded by beating L/P 3-1. R-P (2-1, 2-2) beat Caledonia 3-1, only their second win versus the Warriors since the 1990s. The Trojans had 118 digs with three girls topping 20. Setter Isabelle Kahoun had 28 assists and 24 digs. Ella Cambern was 28-28 serving with 25 assists as Lanesboro swept Schaeffer. Addyson McHugh had 21 kills, but SG fell to Randolph in five sets. On the cross country front, Chatfield’s Jayna Harstad was named Section 1A Coach of the Year.
