Caledonia’s boys took on tough competition, losing to West Salem 93-79, beating #3 in AA Pequot Lakes 59-55 in overtime at the Target Center, then losing to #2 in AA Belle Plaine 78-76 as a part of the Southern Minnesota Hoop Festival (at Mayo High School). Sophomore Grant King scored 29, 27, and 28 points in the three games with 12 combined three pointers. The Warriors (3-0, 6-3) lead the TRC East over Cotter/HL (2-0, 9-1) and R-P (3-1, 8-2). Reid Hungerholt scored 22 points but the L-O lost to BP 86-40 at the GM tourney. The Cardinals rallied a game later at the event, topping Alden-Conger 55-52. Grayson Stockdale hit six threes and scored 22 points. Carson Harstad scored 23 points and Ross Stoehr 22 as Chatfield beat Houston 75-35. Aubrie Klug scored 38 points (seven threes), and Nicole Banse added 20 points, as Class AA #6 Caledonia beat West Salem 84-48. The Warriors (5-0, 8-3) lead Cotter/HL (3-1, 6-6) in the TRC-East. Siri Konkel scored 23 points as SG/M-C’s topped K-W 63-45 at the Hayfield tourney. SG/MC (9-3) then lost a key section game to Hayfield/Schaeffer (9-2) by 69-51 final. The Lions (5-1, 9-3) lead the SEC over Southland (4-1, 7-1), and idle Lanesboro (4-1, 6-3). Also at the Hayfield tourney, Naomi Warmka went for 24 (pts) and 10 (rebs), Gracie Foster 22 (pts) and 10 (rebs) respectively, as GM lost to Z-M 86-43 and K-W 52-46. Houston’s Aubry Boldt scored 27 points in a loss to JWP, and 24 points in a 63-26 win over W-K. Teammate Jorja Meyer nearly added a triple-double (17 points, 10 rebounds, 8 steals) in support versus the Falcons. At the Clash wrestling duals, Caledonia/Houston went 0-5 but seniors Will Allen (5-0) and Anthony Von Arx (4-0) went undefeated. Allen capped a week where, with an 8-1 Bi-State showing, he went 13-1.
