Hope Himli obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Hope Heather Himli, age 46, of Spring Valley, Minn., was reunited with her sisters and mom in heaven on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

Born on October 2, 1979, to James Himli and Cheryl (Rathbun) Bornholdt, Hope brought light into the world from the very beginning. She graduated from Kingsland High School in 1998 and worked various jobs throughout the Spring Valley community.

Hope was united in marriage to Matt Voll and they were later divorced.

Hope had a gift for connection – there was not a person she met that she could not be friends with. Her huge heart and smile made everyone feel comfortable and valued. She formed lifelong friendships and she held those friendships close.

She is survived by her beautiful and precious children Grace and Bentley, parents James (DeeAnn) Himli, significant other Shawn Mather, stepbrothers Dennis Bornholdt, Todd (Jana) Bornholdt, Darren Bornholdt, Lloyd Bornholdt, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ronald and “Sherry” Cheryl Bornholdt, sisters Christine Schlee and Angella Bornholdt, maternal grandparents Erwin (Irene) Rathbun, paternal grandfather Raymond and Dorothy Himli, and grandparents Russell (Caryle) Bornholdt.

Hope’s memory will live on in the countless lives she has touched.

Memorials for Hope’s children may be directed to Jim or DeeAnn Himli.

A visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. on March 7, 2026, at the Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley. Burial will take place in the Spring Valley Cemetery in the Spring. Condolences may be left at www.Hindtfuneralhomes.com.
