Harriet I. Dollar, 85, of Lanesboro, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 30, 2022, at her home in Lanesboro.
Harriet Ione Hongerholt was born June 19, 1937, rural Lanesboro, on the family farm in Highland township, to Henry and Clara (Hanson) Hongerholt. Harriet married Joe Dollar in 1956. Being an Army wife, she lived in Kansas, Texas, Germany, Colorado, Texas and back to Lanesboro with her husband and three children: Deb, Rick, and John. Harriet worked at Rush Products in Rushford, Minn., for 30 years.
Harriet enjoyed working in her flower beds, taking long rides in the country, spending time with her family and Brody, the family pet.
Harriet is survived by daughter Debora Hornby (Myron), son John Dollar, grandchildren Joshua Dollar, Alex Hornby, Gunnar Dollar, and Chase Hornby (Janie); great-granddaughters Emersyn and Alana Hornby, sisters Bonnie Fussom and Diane Wendtt, and brother Junior Hongerholt
She is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Clara Hongerholt, husband Joe, son Rick Dollar, along with two brothers, Carol and Darrel Hongerholt; and sister Charlene Sveen, two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
Memorial service for Harriet will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Whalan Lutheran Church in Whalan, with Pastor Patricia Hinkie officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at Whalan Lutheran Church. Graveside service will take place in the spring at Hongerholt Cemetery.
