2023 Season: GMLOKS’ girls won their fourth straight 1A True Team title. They were state runner-up. The boys were 1A True Team runner-up. They took sixth at state. Each squad was SEC Meet champion. GMLOKS had 10 athletes qualify for state individually. The girls 4×200 (Anika Reiland, Chantle Reiland, Lydia Redman, Breeley Galle) won the state title, the fifth straight for a GMLOKS girls 4×200. C-Reiland was also state champion in the 100 while qualifying in the 200. A-Reiland took second place in the 200. Galle qualified in the 300-meter hurdles. Lexy Foster was a dual qualifier (Shot Put, Discus) including taking third in the Shot. Sam Snitker (High Jump > 4th place-tie) and Garrison Hubka (1,600 > 7th place) also made the state podium. The boys 4×800 (Hubka, Andrew Imm, Tate Georgen, Carter Glynn) competed at state. A-Reiland, Hubka, and Imm were the graduations.

Kids to Watch: C-Reiland, a double-state champ last year (4×200, 100) and triple-state qualifier (200), is the top returnee. She has four total state titles (also 4×200 in 2021 and 2022) and seven state qualifications as just a junior. Two of her 4×200 teammates, Galle and Redman return. Aside from being on two 4×200 state title teams, Galle has qualified for state in the 300-hurdles twice. C-Reiland (also Long Jump) and Galle (also Triple Jump, 100-hurdles) were each four-event 1A Meet qualifiers. L-Foster is as the two-time defending 1A Shot and Discus champion. She has a third-place state finish in each (Shot 2022, Discus 2023) to her credit. Snitker tied for fourth at state in the High Jump in his first year of track. Two members of the state qualifying boys 4×800 return in Glynn and Georgen. Redman (4×100), Glynn (800), and Georgen (1,600) were each two-event 1A Meet competitors. L-Queensland, a former state qualifier (4×800 in 2021), competed in three events (4×400, 4×800, High Jump) at last year’s 1A Meet. A-Howard (110-hurdles, Triple Jump, 4×200, 4×400), Z-Reiland (300-hurdles, 4×200, 4×400), Wiersma (200, 4×100, 4×200), and K-Reiland (Long Jump, 4×100, 4×200) competed in three-plus events for last year’s 1A Meet. Girls G-Foster (100-H, 4×100), Soltau (4×100), Warmka (4×800), and Sathre (Discus) also made the 1A Meet. Boys Shaw (800), Granle (Pole Vault), Schultz (Pole Vault), and Drees (400, 4×400) also made the 1A Meet.
