Golf (5/26 – 5/28)

(B and G) Section 1AA Meet (Caledonia’s girls were one of five teams to make Day 2.  They (693) took fifth behind champion Lake City (659), Red Wing (671), Rochester-Lourdes (679), and PIZM (685).  PIZM’s Neva Anderson (40/37/42/36 > 155) was meet medalist over RW’ s Hallie Johnson (38/39/40/39 > 156) by one stroke.  Lourdes’ Paige Moeschler (38/40/37/43 > 158) took third, RW’s Taylor Novacek (45/43/38/37 > 163) fourth.  Caledonia’s Jazzlyn Hauser (40/45/39/45 > 169) tied for 12th place, Maggie Herman (44/41/40/45 > 170) tied for 14th, and Emersyn Klug (40/45/38/49 > 172) tied for 16th.  Chatfield’s Brynn Tweten (44/44/45/41 > 174) took 19th place.  Hayden Harms (182), Ellison Harms (191), and Alexis Sauer (196) also made Day 2 for the Warriors.  Forty-four girls made Day 2 and 72 total competed.  On the boys’ side, Stewartville (615) topped PIZM (616) by one stroke for the state bid.  Lourdes (618), Byron (661), and Lake City (663) rounded of the teams competing both days.  Winona’s Logan Larsen (41/39/33/38 > 151) and K-M’s Logan Johnson (38/41/37/35 > 151) co-medaled atop the leaderboard with Stewie’s Isaiah Nelson (38/40/36/38 > 152) and Lourdes Owen Hoehn (39/40/38/35 > 152) tying for third.  Chatfield’s Carson Harstad (39/42/39/37 > 157) tied for 15th place while Gopher Carter Ask (171) also made Day 2.  One-hundred-one guys competed with 45 making both days.  The meets were held at the 18-hole par-72 Northern Hills Golf Course in Rochester.)
