Burros Teams Each Stay Perfect, Wrap Up SEC Titles
Lanesboro’s golf teams swept meets with Southland and GMLO. Each improved to 8-0 on the year and wrapped up SEC regular season titles by doing so. Hosting the Rebels, the boys won 180-192 at Lanesboro’s par-35 golf course. Jack Brogle (38) medaled while Holdyn Willford (46), Grant Horihan (47), and Dayton Haugen (49) also scored for the team. The Rebels top two golfers were Kade Overocker (41) and Timmy Hogfeldt (46). The girls won 222-245. Addison McCabe medaled (48) while Ellie McCabe (50) also shot sub-50 or better. Southland’s top golfer was Claire Nelsen (53). At GMLO, the Burros shot a season-low in a 163-173 win. Brogle medaled again (36), shooting even par at Adams’ Cedar River Golf Course. Haugen (40), Willford (43), and Kyle Ruen (44) also scored for the Burros. Graham Eastlee (40), Nathan Fretty (41), Lincoln Lunning (45), and Teague Alden (47) scored for GMLO. The gals won 197 to incomplete. A-McCabe (45) medaled. Jentrey Schreiber (46), Grace Tufte (51), and E-McCabe (55) shot 55 or less. Gabby Tangren (46) paced the Bulldogs. Lanesboro’s boys (8-0, 8-0) take the SEC over nearest foes GMLO (4-3, 4-3), Houston (4-3, 4-4), and Southland (4-3, 4-4). The girls (8-0, 8-0) have earned at least a share of the title over Southland (5-2, 5-3). GMLO’s boys are 4-3, the girls 1-5.
