Gladys B. Ericksen, age 74, of Wykoff, Minn., died on November 30, 2020, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus in Rochester, Minn.
She was born October 27, 1946, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Avery and Josephine Stuckey. She was one of nine children. She grew up in McIntire, Iowa, and graduated from Riceville High School in 1965. On July 30, 1966, she married M. Russell Ericksen. Russ passed away on November 13, 2005.
Gladys was a wonderful seamstress; there was not an alteration or sewing project that she could not do. She also loved to bake, her pecan pies, fudge, and peanut brittle were always a favorite at family gatherings. Gladys enjoyed traveling, especially the cruise ship vacations she took with Heidi. She also enjoyed the many day trips that she and Scott would go on, and the shopping trips with Juanita. Spending time with her siblings was also very important to Gladys. She also enjoyed all of the great times she had with her special friend Palmer. Though, you could say her greatest joy in life came in the form of her six grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She had the pleasure of taking care of her grandkids while they were young. She enjoyed attending as many of the grandkids’ activities as possible. Gladys will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Gladys was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Wykoff, Minn.
She is survived by a son, Scott of Rochester, Minn.; two daughters, Heidi Snyder of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Juanita (Jacob) Gilbert of Wykoff, Minn.; six grandchildren: Brittany, Anthony, and Luke Snyder of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Carter, Olivia, and Sophia Gilbert of Wykoff, Minn.; siblings Robert Stuckey of Crookston, Minn., Roberta Dunn of Waterloo, Iowa, Irvin Stuckey of Ferryville, Wis., Gaylord (Naomi) Stuckey of Grand Meadow, Ardys (David) Duryee of Ackley, Iowa, and Grace (Steven) Farmer of Charles City, Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Judy (Orville) Bartels of Piedmont, S.
