Grand Meadow posted a three-win week. Ryan Queensland’s gals first beat Kingsland 54-44 to sweep that season series. GM never trailed, built a 31-22 halftime edge, and led by at least four the rest of the way. The Larks hit 8 of 32 threes (31%), Kingsland 4 of 32 (13%). Lexy Foster (19 pts, 4-9 threes, 11 rebs) and Lauren Queensland (13 pts, 5-6 FTs, 16 rebs, 5 asts) led the way. Gracie Foster (11 pts) and Kendall Jack (8 pts) helped. Kingsland was led by Jaelee Hagstrom (12 pts, 5-6 FGs), Morgan Phillips (8 pts), Chantle Reiland (6 pts, 12 rebs), and Brooke Lecy (6 pts, 8 rebs). GM then beat Schaeffer Academy 67-45. Queensland (24 pts, 4-4 threes, 8-12 FGs, 6 rebs, 5 asts) led the way. L-Foster (11 pts), G-Foster (10 pts, 3-4 threes), and Rylee Schaufler (9 pts) helped. GM hit 10 of 15 threes (67%)! The Larks (10-4, 16-8) then posted their best win of the year versus SEC leader Spring Grove (14-0, 20-3). GM jumped out 13-2. SG then ran 13-0 to lead 15-13. The Lions run extended to 32-8, as they built a 34-21 lead. SG thus trailed by 11, led by 13 in the half. But GM ended on an 11-0 run to go to half down 34-32. The second half had six ties. G-Foster hit a three for the last deadlock late (51-51). L-Foster then put GM up 53-51 (0:52). Down 55-51, Lion sophomore PG Siri Konkel went the distance for the three-point-play to make it 55-54 (0:24.1)! Queensland pushed the lead to 57-54 with free throws. Konkel again went the distance to make it 57-56 (0:14). Queensland then hit two more freebies. She hit five in the final 0:30.1. The Lions last shot was a missed two-pointer and GM handed SG its first SEC loss, 59-56. Queensland (22 pts, 6 rebs, 5 asts) led all scorers. Sisters L-Foster (14 pts, 17 rebs) and G-Foster (14 pts, 8 asts) helped. Konkel (19 pts, 5 asts) and Kylie Hammel (12 pts, 5 rebs, 6 asts, 4 stls) led the Lions. Kinley Soiney (9 pts, 6 rebs) and Isabel Kaufmann (8 pts) helped. GM lost turnovers 20 to 10 but hit 10 of 14 free throws to SGs 3 of 3. GM also won the boards 40 to 29. The Larks (11-4, 17-8) have won four straight. SG won the first match-up 51-47.
