Lanesboro girls basketball pulled a tough feat. The Burros won back-to-back-to-back games on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in succession. Their standout sophomore point guard Jensyn Storhoff led the way. Steve Storhoff’s group first easily dispatched with Lyle/Pacelli 63-32. Storhoff (22 pts, 3-7 threes, 9 rebs, 7 asts, 7 stls) stuffed the stat sheet, aided greatly by Hailey Erickson (16 pts, 6 rebs). Taylor Hanson chipped in 8 points. The Burros then took on Southland at home. Lanesboro broke a 25-25 tie with a 14-0 run out of intermission, outscoring the Rebels 29-18 after halftime. They posted a 54-43 win. Lanesboro outshot the Rebels 21 of 60 (35%) to 18 of 61 (30%) including making five threes to two. The Burros had 17 second-chance-points to Southland’s eight, as the teams combined for 35 offensive rebounds (L 18, S 17). Storhoff (24 pts, 10 rebs, 4 asts, 5 stls) again keyed the attack. Ellie Howard (9 pts, 3-5 threes), Erickson (8 pts), Hanson (6 pts, 7 rebs), and Bailey Erwin (3 pts, 12 rebs, 5 stls) helped. The Burros then trekked to Decorah for a Border Battle game with MFL MarMac. Trailing 30-25 at halftime, Lanesboro had a 14-5 third quarter to take the lead 39-35. They prevailed 50-44. Storhoff (19 pts, 3-6 threes, 8 rebs, 6 asts, 7 stls) again was all over. No other Burro scored more than seven. Five girls scored between five and seven points. The wins gave Lanesboro (3-1, 6-4) a four-game win streak. They sit tied for second in the SEC with Kingsland (3-1, 4-1) behind SG (4-0, 5-1), and Houston (4-0, 5-4).
