Foster and King in Girls Basketball

Three Rivers Conference Girls Basketball (1/15 – 1/19)

Chatfield 42, #9 in AA Cotter 73 (Ch: Evy Goldsmith 14 pts, 6 rebs; Kendall Knutson 7 pts, 7 rebs. Cotter was 8 of 24 threes (33%), Chatfield 1 of 9 (11%). The Gophers shot 52% (17 of 33) but had 34 turnovers)

#17 in AA Dover-Eyota 50, #13 in AA Caledonia 66 (C: A. Klug 18 pts, 7 rebs, 4 asts, 6 stls; Nicole Banse 13 pts; J. Foster 12 pts, 8 rebs, 9 asts; Kensey King 10 pts, 14 rebs. With it 17-17, Caledonia ended the first half on an 18-5 run to lead 35-22 at intermission. The closest the Eagles then got was six (52-46). The Warriors won their third straight, their tenth overall (10-4), and avenged a 63-57 non-conference loss to D-E on January 4)

#13 Caledonia 72, Lewiston-Altura 28 (C: A. Klug 23 pts (3-9 threes); J. Foster 21 pts (3-8 threes); N. Banse 11 pts)

Southeast Conference Girls Basketball (1/15 – 1/19)

Southland 73, LeRoy-Ostrander 49 (LO: Benita Nolt 14 pts (6-11 FTs), 10 rebs; Miranda Nagel 13 pts, 12 rebs; Maria Almaraz-Nolt 9 pts. The teams shot 60 free throws: L-O 17 of 30 (57%), South 21 of 30 (70%))

Lanesboro 42, Schaeffer Academy 40 (L: Ellie Howard 15 pts (5-6 threes); J. Storhoff 14 pts, 6 rebs, 5 asts; Taylor Hanson 8 pts, 8 rebs. The Burros, behind Howard, hit 6 of 13 threes (46%) to SA’s 1 of 3 (33%). They led by as many as 11 (34-23) in the second half. With it 40-40, Storhoff hit a left-hander floater in the lane for the game-winner with 2.1 ticks left)

LeRoy-Ostrander 30, Grand Meadow 79 (GM: L. Queensland 28 pts (4-5 threes), 9 rebs, 9 asts; L. Foster 23 pts, 5 rebs, 4 stls; Gracie Foster 15 pts (5-6 threes). L-O: M. Nagel 12 pts, 6 rebs; B. Nolt 11 pts, 5 rebs. Threes: GM 12-24, L-O 1-16)

Grand Meadow 63, Lyle/Pacelli 28 (GM: L. Foster 18 pts, 8 rebs, 5 asts; L. Queensland 13 pts; R. Schaufler 6 pts, 14 rebs; G. Foster 8 pts, 4 rebs, 4 asts)

Houston 69, LeRoy-Ostrander 45 (H: A. Kingsley 23 pts (7-7 FTs), 6 stls; A. Boldt 21 pts, 5 rebs, 4 stls; Olivia Yohe 12 pts, 6 rebs, 5 stls. LO: M. Nagel 19 pts, 17 rebs; B. Nolt 13 pts, 12 rebs, 4 blks; Mabel Johnson 7 pts, 11 rebs, 4 asts. Houston won at the free throw line 18 of 24 (75%) to LO’s 6 of 9 (67%). LO > 1-7, 1-14)

Kingsland 50, Schaeffer Academy 42 (K: Jaelee Hagstrom 9 pts (4-5 FGs); C. Reiland 8 pts; Ryley Guy 8 pts, 6 rebs; Morgan Phillips 5 pts, 9 stls. Ten Knights scored but none in double figures in the win. Kingsland led 49-31 in the second half)

Houston 53, Schaeffer Academy 47 (H: A. Kingsley 20 pts (4-4 FTs), 7 stls; Jorja Meyer 13 pts, 6 rebs. Houston overcame a 28-20 halftime deficit by out-scoring Lions 33-19 in the second half)

Non-Conference Girls Basketball (1/16 – 1/20)

Kenyon-Wanamingo 57, Kingsland 67 (K: R. Guy 19 pts (8-13 FGs); Katelyn Hauser 14 pts (4-8 threes); C. Reiland 7 pts, 10 rebs, 11 asts; Brooke Lecy 8 pts, 15 rebs. Trailing 22-14, Kingsland finished first half on a 19-5 run to lead 33-27 at half. The Knights shot 46% from the field (26 of 56) while K-W shot 27% (21 of 77). K-W had 24 offensive rebounds)

Waukon 70, Houston 55 (H: A. Kingsley 20 pts (3-9 threes), 4 asts; A. Boldt 16 pts; E. Botcher 9 pts, 5 rebs)

#13 in AA Caledonia 41, #14 in AA Rochester-Lourdes 57 (C: A. Klug 11 pts; J. Foster 11 pts; N. Banse 9 pts. Lourdes hit eight threes to the Warriors two. The game was tied 33-33 in the second half. The Eagles closed on a 24-8 run)
