Girls Basketball (1/17 – 1/22) Three Rivers Conference

Lanesboro junior Kaci Ruen gets inside position for the easy basket versus Mabel-Canton. Ruen had a double-double in the second half and went for 26 (pts) and 11 (rebs) overall to lead the Burros to a 55-33 win. The SEC-East leaders improved to 11-4.

Rushford-Peterson 46, Plainview-Elgin-Millville 66 (R-P: K. Ruberg 20 pts (7-8 FTs), 12 rebs; Ellie Ekern 11 pts (3-5 threes). PEM: Abigail O’Reilly 27 pts. PEM’s lead was 35-28 at half. FTs: R-P 12 of 15 (80%), PEM 18 of 25 (72%))

Fillmore Central 79, Dover-Eyota 89 (FC: Regan Hanson 17 pts (8-13 FGs); Madison Simon 14 pts, 6 rebs; Jersey Ristau 14 pts (4-7 threes); Kammry Broadwater 12 pts, 6 rebs, 5 asts; C. Hershberger 11 pts (3-4 threes). D-E: Malia Nelson 30 pts; Sophie Andring 24 pts. Falcons hit 10 of 21 threes (48%). They scored and gave-up season high point-totals)

St. Charles 32, Fillmore Central 63 (FC: C. Hershberger 24 pts (3-8 threes), 7 stls; M. Simon 9 pts; K. Broadwater 8 pts, 5 rebs, 4 stls; Alyssa Britton 8 pts, 6 rebs. Falcons led 40-17 at intermission, won first TRC game)

Dover-Eyota 78, Rushford-Peterson 53 (R-P: K. Ruberg 24 pts (6-8 FTs, 8-16 FGs), 15 rebs; E. Ekern 12 pts. Eagles lead was just 28-22 at intermission, but TO’s (26 to 9) were R-P’s undoing. Trojans > 3-6, 7-9)

Southeast Conference

Grand Meadow 66, LeRoy-Ostrander 29 (GM: R. Landers 20 pts (10-13 FGs), 6 rebs; McKenna Hendrickson 14 pts, 7 rebs, 4 asts, 4 stls; Lauren Queensland 9 pts, 5 rebs, 4 asts; Kendyl Queensland 8 pts, 6 rebs. L-O: J. Runde 8 pts; Grace O’Byrne 8 pts; B. Nolt 6 pts (6-10 FTs), 16 rebs. GM led 46-17 at halftime)

Houston 58, Spring Grove 55 (H: Sydney Torgerson 19 pts (7-9 FTs), 8 rebs, 5 stls; Priya Kingsley 11 pts, 5 asts, 5 stls; Lilly Carr 10 pts, 7 rebs; Olivia Beckman 8 pts. SG: A. McHugh 25 pts (7-12 threes), 5 rebs, 5 asts, 6 stls; J. Leahy 9 pts (3-10 threes); Emerson Ingvalson 6 pts, 7 rebs, 5 asts, Lydia Solum 7 pts. FTs: H 12 of 14 (86%), SG 1 of 4 (25%). With 4:20 to play, the Lions led 52-50 before the 11th lead change. SG shot a season-best 40% and outscored the Hurricanes by eight from the field, but Houston had an 11-point advantage with free throws. Lions hit 12 of 36 threes (33%) to Houston’s four of 20 (20%). Houston notched its 10th win and 11th straight versus SG)

Grand Meadow 64, Southland 25 (GM: L. Queensland 19 pts, 7 rebs, 6 stls; K. Queensland 14 pts, 6 rebs, 5 stls; M. Hendrickson 14 pts, 5 rebs, 4 stls; R. Landers 7 pts, 8 rebs. Rebels had 31 turnovers. Larks won fourth straight game)

Kingsland 58, Lyle/Pacelli 41 (K: K. Hauser 22 pts (5-11 threes, 5-6 FTs); Audrey Webster 13 pts, 10 rebs, 6 asts; Kennedy Fenske 8 pts; Anika Reiland 5 pts, 13 rebs. Knights out-scored L/P 34-21 in second half, expanding a 24-20 lead. FTs: K 18 of 34 (53%), LP 12 of 22 (55%). Knights won the glass 56 to 37 including 22 to 10 offensively)

Houston 45, Cochrane-Fountain City 56 (H: S. Torgerson 17 pts (10-10 FTs), 8 rebs, 4 stls; P. Kingsley 12 pts, 5 rebs, 4 stls. Houston hit 15 of 20 FTs (75%) but had just 13 made field goals. Hurricanes > 6-3, 10-6)

Mabel-Canton 44, LeRoy-Ostrander 42 (M-C: K. Soiney 21 pts (3-9 threes), 9 rebs, 4 stls; Hope Erickson 14 pts, 13 rebs, 6 stls. L-O: B. Nolt 21 pts (10-14 FGs), 19 rebs; J. Runde 16 pts (7-8 FTs). L-O led most of the game. The Cougars scored on five of six possessions late; an 11-4 spurt turning a 38-33 deficit into a 44-42 lead. Neither team scored from there.
