Memorial services for Gerald “Jerry” Barth will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 27, 2017, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Spring Valley, with Rev. Mark VanHouse and Rev. Betsy Dartt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation was held 4-6 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2017, at the Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Spring Valley died Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at his home in Spring Valley.

He was born May 27, 1934 to Lorenze and Helen (Reynolds) Barth in Preston, Minn. On June 26, 1959, he was united in marriage to Pauline Vreeman at Greenleafton Reformed Church.  For many years Jerry worked on powerline construction and also farmed. In later years he owned his own appliance service business in Spring Valley.  He enjoyed watching football, fishing and working with leather, making belts and billfolds. He also enjoyed hearing about his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pauline; three sons: Terry (Glen) Barth of Minneapolis, Craig (Amy) Barth of Roanoke, Tex., and Brian (Missy) Barth of Byron, four grandchildren: Trevor, Abbie, Lexi, and Luke, one brother, LuVerne (Maggie) Barth of Chatfield, two sisters: Patricia Oviatt of Zimmerman, Minn., and Gayle (Kenny) Leibfried of Spring Valley; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Charles and one sister, Marion Boeke.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Season’s Hospice or Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
