Gareld G. Stockdale, age 77, of Spring Valley, Minn., died at his home on Thursday, January 28, 2021.
Gareld Gene Stockdale was born on December 27, 1943, to Clarence and Grace (Lubbers) Stockdale. He was united in marriage to Verna Casey in Fillmore County on June 1, 1963. They lived their entire marriage within 30 miles of Spring Valley. They moved to Spring Valley in 1969.
Gareld worked hauling milk and farming. He also worked for Land O’Lakes, Hulbert’s Camper Corral and Northern Country Co-Op of LeRoy, where he retired in 2010. He enjoyed camping and woodworking. He was camp host at Lake Louise State Park in LeRoy. Gareld was involved with the Boy Scouts of America for 30 years and was steward for the union at Land O’Lakes.
Gareld is survived his wife Verna Stockdale of Spring Valley, one son, David Stockdale of Overland Park, Kans., and two daughters, Denise Stockdale of Rochester, Minn., and Dawn (Todd) Albertson of Kansas City, Mo.; six grandchildren: Zachary (Carleigh) Albertson of Platte City, Mo., Joseph (Jessica) Heidebrink of Rochester, Minn., Jacquelynn Heidebrink of Rochester, Minn., Walter (Kendra) Heidebrink of Byron, Minn., Megan Albertson of Kansas City, Mo., and Amanda Heidebrink of Columbia, Mo.; and nine great-grandchildren: Avery, Bentley, Gracelynd, Aurora, Aubriana, Kauis, Reign, Laikyn, and Kinsley.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation for Gareld will be held on Monday, February 1, 2021, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley. Masks are required and social distancing will be practiced. A private family memorial service will be held with Pastor Susan Li officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lime Springs, Iowa.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Gareld was a very nice guy. Always enjoyed him when he drove school bus and then when he would come into the hardware store. Him and Verna would just sometimes just stop at the store to pick up some popcorn. He will be missed. May the Lord watch over you and your family during this difficult time.
