Rushford-Peterson continued its turn-around by beating Wabasha-Kellogg in their regular season finale, stoking their win streak to four. The Sampson Wilkemeyer to Jaxson Meldahl connection was huge, as the duo hooked up for 78 and 56-yard TD receptions. Wilkemeyer (12-18, 285 yards, 3 TDs passing, 6-24 rushing) improved to 4-0 when playing QB. Meldahl (6-207, 2 TD receiving), just a sophomore, had a career-game. Jonah Bunke (7-69, TD rushing), Dawson Bunke (3-47 receiving), Domanick Corcoran (2-26, TD receiving), and Titan Tekautz (1-yard TD run) helped in a 36-0 shut-out win. R-P’s win streak makes the 1A playoffs highly competitive. The Trojans (4-4, 4-4) are 1A’s 6-seed, will play at 3-seed Kenyon-Wanamingo (6-2). The teams did not play in the regular season.
