Chatfield fumbled on its first offensive play and D-E scored. The Eagles then never trailed, leading 14-6 at half and 17-6 in the third quarter. The Gophers turned a turnover into points late in the third to make it 17-14. But D-E then went on a 17-play 80-yard drive. It was capped when Lehnertz hit Bye for a 2-yard TD pass out of wildcat run formation on 4th and goal. It put D-E up 24-14 (3:40). Chatfield then scored (0:52) but failed to get onside kick. The Gophers season ends at 7-3)
