LeRoy-Ostrander can proudly hold up four fingers high. For a third straight week, the #10 in 9-Man Cardinals were clutch in the fourth quarter to post another big win. Trevor Carrier’s group (2-0, 3-0) trailed Southland (2-1, 3-1) 13-12 midway through the last quarter only for Logan Diemer to toss a 4th and 10, 22-yard half-back pass touchdown to Carter Sweeney for the 18-13 lead. The Rebels then came back and got a Noah Bauer to Jack Bruggeman 66-yard TD strike. With conversion, they went back ahead 21-18. But Camden’s Hungerholt’s 1-yard TD run, also on 4th down, with 1:26 left in the game proved the difference. L-O, ranked #10 in 9-Man, stayed unbeaten (3-0, 4-0) via a 24-21 win. Hungerholt again carried a huge load (40-256 yards, 3 TDs rushing, 10-21, 128 yards passing) while Sweeney (6-100, TD receiving) was his favorite target. Tysen Stevens (23-126, 2 TDs rushing) and Bruggeman (2-76, TD receiving) led the Rebels. Carson Roe had 10 tackles to lead L-O defensively. Hungerholt surpassed 1,000 yards rushing for the season in only L-O’s fourth game, a rare feat even for 9-man. The now #9 Cardinals (3-0, 4-0), #2 Spring Grove (4-0, 5-0), and #10 Kingsland (3-0, 4-0) are the South-East’s unbeatens.
