Quarterback Chase Christianson had nearly a perfect night throwing the football and the Fillmore Central defense pitched its third shutout of the year as Chris Mensink’s #2 Falcons downed Lewiston-Altura 40-0. Christianson (14-15, 180 yads, 2 TDs passing) completed 93% of his passes including hitting Greg Kennedy (6-73 receiving) and Jayce Kiehne for scores. Kiehne (4-53 receiving, 5-45 rushing) added a ground score while Kyle Daniels (12-127, 2 TDs rushing) led FC’s rushing attack. Anthony Kiehne also contributed a 1-yard TD run. FC put up 408 yards of total offense while holding the Cardinals to 90. It was FC’s second straight shutout. The Falcons are the last Mid-Southeast team left unbeaten, as Faribault B.A. (5-1, 5-1) topped previously unbeaten Kenyon-Wanamingo (5-1, 5-1) by 26-12 final. Goodhue (5-1, 5-1) also has one loss. The win enabled FC (6-0, 6-0) to wrap up its “East” sub-division title over L-A (2-4, 2-4) and R-P (2-4, 2-4). It is FC’s second straight sub-district title.
