Football

October 9, 2023 by Paul Trende

South-East Football (9/29)

Grand Meadow 14, Southland 33 (GM: Corbin Ludemann 15-91, 2 TDs rushing; Dalton Pischke 8-50 rushing. Southland (3-2, 4-2) led 28-6 at the half and 33-14 after three. Larks had just four passing yards. GM did break a two-game scoreless streak after suffering back-to-back shut-outs to state-ranked teams #7 Edgerton (38-0) and #10 Kingsland (57-0). Three of their five foes have been state-ranked (#2 Spring Grove also). GM > 0-4, 0-5)

Mid-Southeast Football (9/28)

Hayfield 8, Rushford-Peterson 28 (R-P: Sampson Wilkemeyer 4-10, 116 yards, TD, INT passing, 2-23 receiving; J. Meldahl 6-128, TD rushing (78-yard TD run); Domanick Corcoran 3-93, TD receiving (70-yard TD catch); Jonah Bunke 12-25, TD rushing; Will LaFleur 44-yard interception return TD. LaFleur had two interceptions, Wilkemeyer and J-Bunke each one. R-P led 14-0 at halftime and put it away going ahead 28-0 in the fourth quarter)

Rushford-Peterson’s Sampson Wilkemeyer runs for yards in the Trojans’ home contest versus Hayfield. After a brutal first four game schedule, R-P got in the win column courtesy of a 28-8 win over the Vikings. The last half of their schedule is not nearly the gauntlet the first four games were.
