Fillmore County District Court

On September 7, Bo Thomas Williams, 50, of Rochester, appeared before District Court Judge Carmaine Sturino.  Williams is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.   It is a felony with a maximum criminal penalty of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.  On or about September 6, a Minnesota state trooper pulled over the defendant in Chatfield.  Upon searching the defendant’s vehicle, a meth pipe and white residue were allegedly found.   A field test of the white residue allegedly returned presumptive positive for methamphetamine. 

On September 16, Steven Michael Current, 56, of Annandale, appeared before District Court Judge Matthew J. Opat.  Current is charged with Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle.  It is a felony with a maximum criminal penalty of three years and one day in prison and/or a $5,000 fine.  On or about September 2, a Fillmore County Sheriff’s sergeant allegedly attempted to pull over the defendant for driving with a cancelled license (inimical to public safety).  The defendant allegedly fled by motorcycle.  On September 26, Steven Michael Current appeared before District Court Judge Matthew J. Opat.  Current was charged with Burglary – 3rd Degree – Steal/Commit Felony or Gross Misdemeanor.  It is a felony with maximum criminal penalty of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.  On or about September 15, a Fillmore County Sheriff’s investigator reviewed video footage of a package being stolen from the front step of a house and of a garage being broken into.  Current was allegedly identified as being involved in both offenses.  On September 28, Steven Michael Current appeared before District Court Judge Kevin Siefken.  Current is charged with Possess Ammo/Any Firearm – Conviction or Adjudicated Delinquent for Crime of Violence.  It is a felony with a maximum criminal penalty of 15 years in prison and/or a $30,000 fine.  On or about September 26, a Fillmore Country Sheriff’s sergeant approached the defendant, as the sergeant was aware there were warrant’s out for Current’s arrest.  In the defendant’s pocket was allegedly a shotgun slug.  Current is ineligible to possess firearms or ammunition.
