On August 26, Shawn Gene Johnson, 26 of Preston, appeared before District Court Judge Matthew J. Opat.  Johnson is charged with Violate No Contact Order – Within Ten Years of the First of Two or More Convictions.  It is a felony with a maximum criminal penalty of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.  On or about August 25, a Fillmore County Sheriff’s Investigator and a Preston Police Officer attempted a warrant service at a residence in Preston.  At the home was allegedly someone for which Johnson has been issued a Domestic No Contact Order.  Johnson was allegedly inside the dwelling.  He was arrested for the initial active warrant and for violation of the DANCO.   Johnson has previously been convicted for misdemeanor, gross misdemeanor, and felony violation of a DANCO, all in the last two years.

On August 26, Michelle Nettles, 39 of Rushford, appeared before District Court Judge Matthew J. Opat.  Nettles is charged with Domestic Abuse – By Strangulation.  It is a felony with a maximum criminal penalty of three years in prison and/or a $5,000 fine.  On August 25, a Rushford Police Officer and Fillmore County Sheriff’s Deputy were dispatched to a domestic dispute in Rushford.  A female had allegedly been choked by another female amidst an argument, with two witnesses allegedly corroborating the story.  Officers found the defendant was noticeably intoxicated.  She blew a .105 approximately one hour and 40 minutes after the first officer arrived.
