Fillmore County District Court

February 16, 2026 by Fillmore County Journal Leave a Comment

On January 23, Destiny Dean Renee Hebert, 44, with no current address, appeared before District Court Judge Debra A. Groehler.  Hebert is charged with Financial Transaction Card Fraud – Use – No Consent, a felony with a maximum criminal penalty of five years in prison and or a $10,000 fine.  On or about November 27, 2025, a Preston Police officer was dispatched to an alleged theft in Fountain.  An individual reported that her purse, with checkbook and debit/credit cards went missing from her car, and that three transactions were made without her consent.  The officer reviewed the security camera footage and receipts from the Dollar Store in Preston, with witnesses alleging a woman named Destiny or Destiny Hubert was the culprit.  Preston police later found the alleged defendant, named Destiny Hebert, was already in custody at the Fillmore County Jail.  Surveillance camera footage from the Dollar Store and booking photos of Hebert (for a separate offense) from the jail allegedly matched.  Hebert allegedly refused to speak with officers about the theft.  The victim’s purse was later found in an alley in Preston and returned.  Missing was $180 to $200 in cash, $300 to $500 in gift cards, and other miscellaneous items.  Hebert was convicted for gross misdemeanor theft on November 10, 2025, in Olmsted County.
