Head Coaches: Aaron Mensink (girls), Brad Holten (boys).

Where We Left Off in 2023: The Falcons girls won both the TRC-East (8-0, 9-0) and TRC Meet. Courtney Hershberger (champion), Myleigh Scheevel (third), Lily Miller (fourth), and Chloe Morem (fifth) finished top five at the latter. FC then won their ninth straight 1A title. Hershberger, Morem, Miller, Scheevel, Annika Mensink, and Aubrey Larson finished one thru six. The Falcons then were state runner-up, falling 696 to 697 to Lac qui Parle Valley. Hershberger (second), Scheevel (ninth), Morem (14th), and Larson (17th) finished top 20. The Falcon boys had a good regular season (7-1, 8-1), sharing the TRC-East with La Crescent/Hokah. They were TRC Meet runner-up. Jake Fishbaugher (fourth-tie) and Luke Hellickson (sixth-tie) finished highly. The Falcon boys were then also 1A champs. Fishbaugher was individual section champ, Hellickson took sixth. The Falcons took fourth at state with Fishbaugher finishing as individual state runner-up. Hershberger, Fishbaugher, and Morem graduated.

Outlook: FC golf had a fantastic season a year ago. But each squad graduated its top golfer, All-TRC picks and state runners-up Hershberger and Fishbaugher. They were exceptional. Morem, another All-TRC selection, also moved on. The girls return four of their top six. Myleigh Scheevel (junior) took third at the TRC Meet, tied for third at sections, and finished ninth at state. Lily Miller took fourth (TRC), tied for third (1A), and took 30th (state). Aubrey Larson took 16th (TRC), sixth (1A), and 17th (state). Annika Mensink tied for 10th (TRC), took fifth (1A), and tied for 40th (state). The Falcon girls dynasty seems safe with that foursome. Each was All-TRC: Scheevel, Larson, and Miller repeating. On the guys side, five of six from last year’s state group return in Luke Hellickson (senior), Aiden Arnold (junior), Brody Srsen (freshman), Anthony Kiehne (junior), and Brock Sikkink (junior). Hellickson finished sixth at both the TRC (tie) and 1A Meets. Arnold (12th-tie TRC, 7th-tie 1A), Kiehne (18th-tie TRC, 7th-tie 1A), and Sikkink (20th-tie TRC, 19th 1A) each finished top 20 at said meets. Srsen took 10th at the 1A Meet. Sikkink was the second highest finisher at state (49th-tie). Hellickson, Srsen, Kiehne, and Arnold were All-TRC. With four 1A Meet top 10 golfers, four All-TRC picks, FC’s boys again should be a force.
