Funeral services for Evelyn A. Armstrong will be held 11 a.m. Friday February 11, 2022, at Our Savior’s Lutheran church in Spring Valley, with Pastor Betsy Dartt officiating. Burial will be in Plainview, Minn. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Evelyn Anna Armstrong, age 90, of Spring Valley, died Saturday February 5, 2022, at Spring Valley Senior Living. She was born March 25, 1931, in Spring Valley, Minn. She was the daughter of August and Anna (Daleske) Koball. She was raised on the family farm and attended rural school thru the 8th grade. Evelyn worked for neighbors, doing household and farm work until her marriage to Orville L. Armstrong on March 20, 1949, at Zion Lutheran Church in Spring Valley. The couple made their home in Spring Valley where they operated the Skelly Gas Station and the Shady Acre Trailer Court for 42 years. Evelyn also had a day care for 35 years. They retired in 1991 and lived on Smith Street in Spring Valley until moving to Hillside Apartments in 2002. Orville died on January 2, 2005. Evelyn was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Spring Valley.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, brothers Robert and Gerhardt, and sisters-in-law Marlene and Alice.
