Erika M. Fairs

October 26, 2023 by Fillmore County Journal

Erika Fairs obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Erika M. Fairs, age 41, of Wykoff, Minn., and formerly of North Adams, died unexpectedly Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at her home.

Erika was born on March 3, 1982, and was raised in North Adams. She was the daughter of David Babcock and the late Laurie Babcock. Erika graduated from Drury High School in 2000 and continued her education, graduating from Mildred Elley in 2002. She was a small business owner in Spring Valley, Minn., prior to her death.

Erika was a great friend to all that knew her, often putting other peoples needs ahead of her own. She was a loving mom and enjoyed playing games and puzzles with her children and family. Erika adored all animals big and small, rescuing all that she could. You could find Erika at the races on a Friday night with her friends and family and Saturday nights at the demo derby – as well as at the county fairs.

Erika had a very whimsical nature that she was able to share with her kids. Erika took a very active role as Girl Scout leader for the Girl Scout River Valleys, guiding her daughters on their scouting journeys. Erika was fortunate to turn her love of thrift shopping into her work and was proud of her small shop.

Erika is survived by her children Logan Fairs (21) of Duluth, Minn., Hailey Webber (19) of Superior, Wis., Jaidyn Webber (14) and Blake Webber (12) of Wykoff, Minn.; father David Babcock and sister Meg Babcock of North Adams, Mass., and sister Robin (Amy) Hogan of Rochester, Minn.; her closest friend and father of her children, Danny Webber of Preston, Minn., and roommate Myk Rodriguez. Erika also leaves behind Uncle Bill (Karen), cousins Kerry, Jim (Joanna) and Jessica. Erika leaves several friends.

Erika was predeceased by her mother Laurie Babcock in 2021, and maternal grandparents Helen and George Fairs, all of North Adams.

A celebration of life is being planned for her Minnesota friends; a private service and burial will be held at a later date with family attending.

In lieu of flowers cards or letters can be sent to 609 Kansas St. NW Apt 8, Preston, Minn. 55965.
