Elton Tart obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Elton Francis Tart, age 92, of rural Spring Valley, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at the Patty Elwood Center, Cresco, Iowa.

Elton Francis Tart was born May 15, 1928, in rural Spring Valley, Minn., the son of Francis and Olive (Frank) Tart. On October 7, 1950, he married Erna Pretsch in Spring Valley, Minn. To this union six children were born: Rich, Ralph, Dave, Barb, Dan and Bob.

Elton milked cows and farmed for a living. He attended St. Ignatius Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed playing cards with neighbors and friends, and always looked forward to get togethers with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Elton is survived by his wife Erna, and children Rich (Carol) Tart, Ralph (Julie) Tart, Dave (Kathy) Tart, Barb (Steve) Koebke, Dan (Dawn) Tart, and Bob (Stacy) Tart; grandchildren Tony (Samantha) Tart, Kristine (Casey) Nevala, Kenzie (Josh) Skare, Lizzie Tart, Kevin (Julie Broadwater) Tart, Michelle (Jim) Nielsen, Brian Tart, Cody (Missi) Koebke, Blake (Amanda) Koebke, Brady Tart, Brandon Tart, Chelsey (Brett) Wilson, William Tart, Brittney (Caleb) Nolta, and Dyllon Tart; 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Erwin Tart.

A private family service for Elton will be held Saturday, September 26, 2020, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Spring Valley, with Father Marreddy Pathreddy officiating. Burial will be held at St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery.
