January 18, 2017 by Fillmore County Journal

Fillmore County Journal - Elizabeth McEnery Obituary

Elizabeth (Beth) Connelly McEnery, age 82, of Bloomington, died on Wednesday, January 11, 2017.

Beth was born in Lanesboro, Minn., to Angelo and Margaret (Horihan) Connelly. She graduated from Lanesboro High School in 1952 and from the College of St. Teresa in Winona, Minn., in 1956.  In 1958, she married William (Bill) McEnery, who died in 2003 after 45 years of marriage.

Surviving children are Kevin (Laura) McEnery and grandsons Brian and Stephen of Shawnee, Kans.; Kathleen (Doug) Datta and grandsons Kevin (Megan) and Paul of Hopkins, Tom (Chris) McEnery and grandchildren Griffin and Grace of Minneapolis, Dan (Cherilyn) McEnery and granddaughter Mikayla, of Savage.  She is also survived by her dear friend, Chuck Siggerud.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017, at St. Edwards Church, Bloomington. Visitation will be held two hours before Mass.  Interment will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Lanesboro, Minn., at a later date.

The family would like to thank the team at Fairview Southdale’s stroke unit and the special people at N.C. Little Hospice for providing Beth with wonderful and dignified care.

Daughter, sister, classmate, cousin, teacher, wife, mother, travel agency manager, parishioner, confidante, volunteer, world-traveler, Irish grandmother…Beth played many roles during her life.

Yet the role she cherished most was that of friend.  Her friendships and her great smile, which greeted everyone she met, will be her legacy and of that, she can be proud.

She lived joyfully, loved deeply and died gracefully.

Hers was indeed a life well lived.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to: Cemetery Fund of St. Patrick’s Church, Lanesboro, Minn. 55949; Bridging, Inc., W 87th St., Bloomington, Minn. 55420; or N.C. Little Hospice, 7019 Lynmar Lane, Edina, Minn. 55435.
