Elaine Rygmyr obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Elaine J. Rygmyr, 88, of Harmony Care Center, passed away on July 22, 2021 at La Crosse Lutheran Hospital. She was born in Lanesboro on May 13, 1933, the daughter of Martin and Petra Mathea (Blagsvedt) Johnson. She was a graduate of Lanesboro High School and spent her career at Payne Webber in Minneapolis. She married Clair E. Rygmyr October 4, 1969, and they resided in Bloomington, Minn. Upon their retirement, they traveled the world with trips to China, the Middle East, and Central and South America. Elaine was an avid crafter and gardener. 

Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Gloria Chiglo and brother-in-law Maynard Chiglo. She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Katherine Moore, Bloomington, Ind., Michael and Brenda Chiglo, Lanesboro, Steven Chiglo, Lanesboro and Ann and Lon Fretland, Chatfield, as well as five great-nieces and nephews: Jerod Chiglo, St. Charles, Jenna and Dan Root, Preston, Britney, Benjamin and Brayden Fretland, Chatfield, and three great-great-nieces and nephew: Palmer and Parker Root and Tyler Chiglo.

A private family graveside service will be held at Elstad Lutheran Church, rural Lanesboro. 

The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to Gundersen Harmony Care Center and Mayo Hospice for taking such wonderful care of Elaine.
