It is with great sadness that we announce that Eileen Rose Freeman, 91, of Spring Valley, Minn., died on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Mayo Clinic – St. Marys Campus in Rochester, Minn., and she will be dearly missed.
Eileen was born December 22, 1929, to Leslie and Anna (Frutiger) Kirkland of New Haven, Minn. She married Warren Freeman in 1952 in Spring Valley, Minn., where they lived together until Warren’s recent passing. Eileen loved playing cards, going to bingo, collecting, gardening and traveling with Warren.
She was predeceased by their two children, Jeffry Warren and Marcia Ann (Thompson); her parents and three siblings: Clarice (Christofferson), Kenneth, and Eleanor (Hobbs).
She is survived by her son-in-law Curt Thompson, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren: Reid (Julia) Thompson and their children Riley, Caleb and Mia; and Ross (A.J.) Thompson and their children Nora and Dell, as well as a nephew Daniel (Vicki) Freeman of Golden Valley.
A memorial service for Eileen will be held at 11 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Spring Valley, Minn., on Saturday, August 28, 2021, with Pastor Jolene Knudson-Hanse officiating. Burial will take place at Midway Cemetery in rural Spring Valley.
