Dorothy Culbertson Guetzlaff, 90, of Russellville, Ark., passed away peacefully Friday, January 5, 2018, at her home. The daughter of Robert and Lou Ella Johnson Culbertson, she was born July 28, 1927, in Lanesboro, Minn. Dorothy obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota. Dorothy was a retired elementary teacher. She served as an officer in various organizations, in addition to being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League; Pope County Republican Party, Hoe and Hope Garden Club, Main Street Russellville American Association of University Women, Green and Gold Club of Arkansas Tech University and Bridge Club. She was a member of the Saint John’s Lutheran Church, where she was always active in various church activities. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, playing Bridge, decorating and Golden Suns Basketball games. She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon James Guetzlaff, her parents,and a daughter, Anne Hollis.
Dorothy is survived by a son, John Guetzlaff (Susan) of Russellville, a son-in-law, Mack Hollis of Russellville; five grandchildren: Mary Lauren Wilson (Alex) of Fayetteville; Cal Park Hollis II of Fayetteville; Kirstin Kari Guetzlaff of Topeka, Kans., Kelsey Louise Holland of Burlington, Kans., and Kathryn Elizabeth Harvey (David) of Eureka Springs.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Pastor Darrell Kobs and Rev. Don Erwin will officiate.
Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. until service time, on Wednesday, at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
