Delores M. Erichsen, age 90, of Spring Valley, Minn., died Saturday May 9, 2020, at Spring Valley Living.
Delores Marie Erichsen was born February 20, 1930, in Lemond Township, Steel County, Minn., to Melvin and Margaret (Keller) Anderson. She attended and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1947 and continued her schooling at Rochester Vocational School, receiving a degree in nursing. On November 16, 1947, she was united in marriage to Owen “Bud” Erichsen in Racine, Minn., and together raised four daughters: Linda, Pat, Sandra and Pam. Delores worked for 40+ years at Community Memorial Hospital and the Spring Valley Care Center. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and volunteered for many years at the Spring Valley Care Center. She was an avid reader and enjoyed collecting cardinals.
She is survived by her four daughters: Linda Nelson of Elk River, Minn., Pat (Chuck) Hudler of Rochester, Minn., Sandra (Gary) Benson of Wabasha, Minn., and Pam (Robert) Kunert of Ostrander, Minn.; 12 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Anderson of Amelia Island, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Owen “Bud” Erichsen, son-in-law Gene Nelson, and a brother, Lowell.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, a private family service was held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery, with Pastor Susan Li officiating. A public memorial service will be held after restrictions are lifted.
