On a warm, late-October day, cross country teams congregated to St. Charles for the annual TRC Meet. Chatfield claimed the girls team crown (on sixth score tiebreaker). LARPH’s boys claimed another TRC title. LARPH junior runner Caitlin Bauer stayed first place perfect on the year with the girls’ individual crown. Bauer (19:07.8) pack ran a little early but led most of the race in topping La Crescent/Hokah’s Maya Bartosova (19:30.2) and L/FC’s Autumn Rakosnik (20:15.3), the defending champ, for the individual title. Chatfield and LC/H tied for first (75 points) but Niki DeBuhr’s Gophers won on sixth score finisher. D-E (88) took third and LARPH (107) fourth. PEM (112), LFC (143), W-K (152), St. Charles (176), Cotter/Hope Lutheran (226), and GMLOS (233) rounded out the complete teams. Kingsland was incomplete. LFC was the defending champ, but was down multiple eligible runners off last year’s team. Chatfield put five in the top 21. Senior Lexi Kivimagi (21:43.9), 7th grader Henley Johnson (21:59.8), and freshman Adeline Schild (22:31.8) took 11th, 12th, and 13th places. Eighth grader Autumn Norsten (23:01.9) and 7th grader Grace Schild (23:12.7) rounded out the scorers for the team. While Chatfield went 11, 12, 13, 18 and 21 for its 75 points, LC/H went 2, 4, 6, 14 and 49 for its 75. Chatfield’s Lillie Stejskal (23:40.5) finished 27th but LC/H sixth runner took 55th place, giving the Gophers the tiebreaker. Fourth place Hope Docan-Morgan (20:24.7) and sixth-place Juniper Kabat (20:31) joined Bartosova in finishing top 10 for the Lancers. LARPH’s Emily Helgemoe, in her first year of cross country, took 9th place (21:17.7). On the guys’ side, Matt Kingsbury’s LARPH team won their third straight TRC team title despite graduating four off last year’s squad. The defending Class A State Champs (49) topped nearest foes Cotter/HL (68) and W-K (81). D-E (124), LFC (135), LC/H (162),

The cross country All-TRC boys list includes LARPH’s Brennan Kunst (front #2), Grayson Speltz (front #6), Will Jewison (front #10), Cole Timm (back #4), Henry Meyer (back #7), and Cory Kotsmith (back #11), LFC’s Andy Brown (back #3) and Quinn Lepper (back #5), Chatfield’s Ben Peeters (back #6) and Max Hoover (back #9). Grayson Speltz (17:19) and Will Jewison (17:49.1) took sixth and tenth, Cole Timm (18:10.1), Henry Meyer (18:24.4), and Cory Kotsmith (18:50.6) 14th, 17th and 21st. All finishing in the top 21 earned All-TRC honors. Kivimagi, a senior, did so a sixth time. Her best finish was runner-up in 2023. Kunst, also a senior, did so a fifth time. Rakosnik, Bauer and Speltz each three-peated. The 5,000-meter runs were held around St. Charles’ Golf Course.
