Wabasha-Kellogg Gallup (LARPH’s boys (36) took a narrow second to Arcadia (34) of the five full teams. W-K’s Cole Arens (10:03.28) took first, Arcadia’s Nestor Badillo second (10:48.7), and LARPH’s Ryan Prinsen (10:53.48) third of 58 runners going two miles. Tyler Betthauser (5th > 11:22.57), Wyatt Kreidermacher (7th > 11:29.14)), and Isaac Rasmussen (10th > 11:36.5) also finished top 10 for LARPH. Matthew Sprague (11th > 11:42.16) and Brennan Kunst (14th > 11:51.3) finished top 15. Pine Island (19) topped Z-M/K-W (66) for first on the girls side with LARPH (75) taking third and Kingsland fifth of five teams and 50 runners. PI’s Alivia Levi (13:51.6) took first over teammate Elena Kabat (14:14.20). LARPH runners Vada Larson (5th > 14:54.48), Ellie Ekern (10th > 15:43.06), and Lauren Honken (13th > 15:59.46) all finished top 15, as did Kingsland’s Kylie Meyer (9th > 15:33.8) at the 2-mile season-opening race)
Stewartville Invite (Cotter’s girls (83) topped Waseca (89) and Rochester-Lourdes (106) of 17 complete teams. Chatfield took seventh, LFC 10th, Kingsland 12th, and GMLOS 16th of “Journal-covered” programs. Rambler Sonja Semling (20:18.88) took first over Lourdes’ Anna Peikert (20:36.19), and Pacelli’s Kya McManus (21:01.44). Chatfield’s Lexi Kivimagi (21:18.53) was the top ‘Journal-covered’ runner, as she took fourth. LFC’s Lillyan Kiehne (18th > 22:40.35) also finished in the top 20. Gopher Charlotte Oeltjen (23:01.25) and Burro Charity Kingsley (23:26.97) took 22nd and 29th to finish in the top 30. Gopher Marianna Miron (40th place) made the top 40. One hundred twenty-five girls competed at the 5,000-meter event. Cotter (40) also won the boys race over Rochester Area Home School (73) and Lourdes (129). The Ramblers had four in the top 12. Chatfield took seventh, LFC eighth, and GMLOS ninth. Stewartville’s Josh Langseth (17:05.10) topped Cotter’s Erik Semling (17:18.14) and Lourdes Noah Johnson (17:27.52) for the boys individual crown. LFC’s Isaac Snyder was the top “Journal-covered” runner, as he took 19th place (19:20.53). GMLOS’ Carter Glynn (19:29.09), Erik Shaw (19:42.06), Teague Alden took 22nd, 25th and 39th places respectively to make the top 40.
