Clifford "Kip" Hamlin obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Clifford “Kip” Hamlin, age 85, of Spring Valley, Minn., passed away Friday, October 2, 2020, in Spring Valley.

On January 14, 1954, Kip was united in marriage to Kathryn “Kate” Johnson in Spring Valley, Minn., and to this union, five children were born: Janine, Susan, Vicki, Brady, and Rory. Kip worked as a truck driver for Foster Grain, Ruan, and in later years, Fred Carlson Redi-Mix. He kept busy running his own tree service business. Kip liked to spend his free time snowmobiling, motorcycling, playing pool, and watching NASCAR. He also enjoyed watching local softball tournaments, especially if they included family.

Kip is survived by his children Janine Hyland of Spring Valley, Minn., Susan Nodtvedt of Spring Valley, Minn., Vicki Babineau of Rice Lake, Wis., Brady (Sheila) Hamlin of Austin, Minn., and Rory Hamlin of Stewartville, Minn.; 13 grandchildren: Travis Hyland, Trenton Hyland, Tali Hyland, Brent Nodtvedt, Sarah Babineau, Sadie Anderson, Mariah White, Ashley White, Xseyveun Severin, Wyatt Hamlin, Kaleb Hamlin, Braden Bentley, and Kaitlyn Bentley; 10 great-grandchildren: Jack Hyland, Tracker Hyland, Tayten Nodtvedt, Camilla Anderson, Ellis Anderson, Evey Anderson, Braelynn Atkins, Kameron Atkins, Kylee Hyland, Macken Hyland, and brother Allan Hamlin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Kate, sons-in-law Danny “Austin” Nodtvedt, Walter “Scott” Babineau, and Rick Hyland; and brother Rod.

A private family burial will take place at Cherry Grove Cemetery in Cherry Grove, Minn.
