Where We Left Off in 2023: Chatfield’s squads each grabbed division titles. The boys (8-0, 8-0) claimed the TRC-West title out-right while the girls (7-1, 7-1) shared it with St. Charles. The boys took fourth at the TRC meet. The girls took fifth. Taylor Ask tied for sixth. Neither team made Day 2 of the 1AA tourney.
Outlook: Coming off an excellent 2023 campaign, Chatfield duffers again look par-worthy. The guys return three of four All-TRC golfers in Carson Harstad (freshman), Colton Johnson (senior), and Devin Reinhardt (senior). Harstad tied for 12th (TRC Meet) and took 15th (1AA Meet) as just a frosh. Johnson (tied for 8th), senior Brayden Fretland (15th), Reinhardt (16th-tie), and senior Gage Bartels (18th-tie) joined with Harstad to give the Gophers five top 20 returning TRC Meet finishers. Harstad and Reinhardt made Day 2 of sections. On the gals side, Taylor Ask (senior) and Mya Henry (junior) are returning two-time All-TRC performers. Ask tied for sixth and Henry tied for 12th at the TRC Meet. Each finished top 25 of the 1AA Meet. Charleigh Larson (senior) and Grace Copeman (sophomore) also return for the girls, which did cede one All-TRC golfer (Kendall Knutson) to softball.
