The O in Gophers

April 24, 2017 by Paul Trende

An “O” and a “0” aren’t technically the same thing.  For Chatfield softball, the “oh” represents a “zero” in the loss column.  Mark Eickhoff personally had some really sad news on the week.  His varsity head coaching career is, however, all smiles, all wins.  Chatfield began by slamming W-K 14-1 in five innings.   Belle Berg (2-4, 2B, HR, 2 RBI, 3 R) hit her third home run in … [Read more...]

An “O” and a “0” aren’t technically the same thing.  For GMLOK softball, they’ve done the same thing as Chatfield.   The Bulldogs racked up a couple more wins to also stay undefeated.  Versus D-E, GMLOK went ahead with a 3-run fourth inning.  The Eagles closed to down 3-2 heading to the bottom of the sixth.  GMLOK got an insurance run (4-2), which they needed.  They eked out a … [Read more...]

GMLOKS girls track has a number of very good athletes.  Former state discus qualifier, Kingsland graduate Aaron Thauwald, walked into a good situation when he took over the head position this year.  In their second meet, the girls notched their second team win.  GMLOKS (165) topped RPH (128) at the Tro-Canes’ first invite of the year.  Chatfield also competed, taking fifth (of … [Read more...]
