Area track and field conglomerates Caledonia/Spring Grove, Grand Meadow/LeRoy-Ostrander/Kings-land/Southland, Lanes-boro/Fillmore Central/Mabel-Canton, and Rushford-Peterson/Houston plus standalone Chatfield took on the state Class A meet. Chatfield’s Carson Harstad took 10th place at the 1AA golf meet, finishing one stroke from tying for the final state spot. Caledonia gal Jazzlyn Hauser took 13th at the meet. Caledonia baseball, after going 19-1 in the regular season with 19-straight wins, went 0-2 in the playoffs, losing 4-2 each time. They finish at 19-3. The Section 1A individual track and field meet was denoted by a couple things. Area teams Caledonia/Spring Grove, GMLOKS, RP/H, LFCMC and Chatfield were all busy, each qualifying at least four kids for state. (B and G) Section 1AA Meet (PIZM’s boys (612) topped Albert Lea (624) for the team title. Neither Chatfield or Caledonia made Day 2. PIZM’s Collin Fogarty (75/74 > 149) topped Albert Lea’s Archie Nelson (68/82 > 150), Lake City’s Braxton Berlin (73/78 > 151), and Lourdes’ Colton Rich (72/80 > 152) for the individual crown. Warriors Push to Austin and 1AA Final Four Caledonia softball kept its strong season alive courtesy of three post-season wins in four tries.
