The Caledonia/Spring Grove gymnasts claimed the top four all-around places and closed the regular season with its best team score of the season, 117.725, while host Stewartville/Chatfield won with 123.550 on Saturday, March 13.
Warrior freshman Braelyn Lange took top all-around honors with a score of 31.00, followed in order by teammates seventh grader Macy Kraus 29.800, junior Brianna Johnson 28.775 and freshman Sabrina Lisota 28.075. Lange had top-five finishes at all four stations, placing third in both floor exercise and parallel bars, fourth on the balance beam and fifth on vault.
Kraus had the fourth-best vault total and placed fifth on both bars and beam. Johnson had the highest single-event score on beam (8.475) and the team’s two highest finishes with a second place on both vault and floor.
Stewartville/Chatfield athletes had the best individual score and team total at each station, but Cal/SG posted season-high team scores on both vault (33.325) and on the floor (31.675).
The Warriors closed the regular season with a 2-9 record in dual meets, heading into this week’s Section 1A championships.
