Caitlyn Ann Ulwelling, age 35, of LeRoy, Minn., passed away unexpectedly at home December 26, 2025. She was born to Terry and Denise Borgschatz on June 26, 1990, in Rochester, Minn. She was raised in Byron, Minn., and graduated from Byron High School in 2008. After high school she subsequently obtained a cosmetology degree from Aveda Art & Sciences Institute Minneapolis. Caitlyn continued to work as a cosmetologist and proudly started her own business operating independently at Sola Solon Studios in Rochester, Minn. In October 2010 she met the love of her life, Don Ulwelling. They immediately became inseparable and started their life together. They were later married on June 15, 2019, at Four Daughters Vineyard & Winery in Spring Valley, Minn. Caitlyn became a proud mother on August 11, 2014, as she and Don were blessed with the addition of their daughter Mabel Ann. Blessed again on August 28, 2015, when their son Walter Boyd was born completing their family. Caitlyn had many accomplishments in life, but most notable was being a devoted mother in every way possible. Her love of life especially shined through while being at the family cabin near Hayward, Wis. There she would enjoy swimming, fishing, long walks, and pontoon rides with her father at the helm. She loved to go camping with her children and husband, especially when friends and family joined them for the adventure. In addition to working, she also enjoyed making their family home her pride and joy. She loved decorating, antiquing, and cooking and cuddling with her two dogs Frank and Doug. Despite growing up as a Vikings fan, she was easily converted to a Packers fan by her husband, and she was not shy about it. She enjoyed both attending and watching sports with family and friends. Her complete love of life was evident in everything she did, and she made an impact on the lives of everyone she touched. She will be dearly missed by everyone, but we will all smile and laugh when we look back at the time we spent together.
She is survived by her husband Don, children Mabel and Walter, her parents Terry and Denise Borgschatz, father-in-law Thomas Ulwelling, mother-in-law Donna Ulwelling, siblings Nick Borgschatz, Brianna (Jordan) Pogalz, and Taylor Borgschatz (fiancé Colton); brothers-in-law Larry (Shannon) Wood, Michael Wood, and Travis Wood; sister-in-law Betty Ulwelling, paternal grandparents Rosie and Bernard Borgschatz, maternal grandmother Shirley Overton, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Robert Overton, and her husband’s grandmother Gertrude Ulwelling.
