For over a calendar year, they can claim they are undefeated. In their first year in the Southeast, Dakotah Rostad’s GMLOK baseball team ran the gamut. They didn’t lose a league game. GMLOK (12-0, 15-2) entered the last week of the regular season ahead of Randolph (10-1, 13-1). An 11-0 win over M-C (five innings) ensured at least a share of the SEC title. Drew Copley (2-2, HR #4, 3 RBI, R) continued his awesome senior year. Dylan Lunning (5 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K) allowed one base runner (52 pitches). Nolan Skifter (2-3, two 2B, 3 RBI, 2 R) and Reid Kreugel (2-4, 2 R) helped offensively. With Randolph winning back-to-back league games, it set up an SEC championship finale between the Rockets (12-1, 15-1) and Bulldogs (13-0, 16-2). Rostad had the luxury of rolling out ace Copley, who handed the Randolph their sole loss. The Bulldogs then struck first. Kruegel led off the game with a double, and later scored on a Copley sac fly. In the third, Copley stepped to the plate, runners on second and third. A two-run double, plus a Nick Ramaker sac fly, and it was 4-0 GM. Copley took it from there. He pitched a two-hitter. The Bulldogs scored five in the sixth (3-run double by Skifter). GMLOK grabbed its (probably first ever) conference title, 9-0. Copley (7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 7 K, Win) did his usual double work (3-3, 2B, 3 RBI). Kruegel (3-4, 3 R), Skifter (2-4, 2B, 3 RBI, 2 R) and Jacob Welch (2-3, RBI) helped. It was GMLOK’s ninth straight win. A 10-9 come-back win over Houston started the streak. Since, GMLOK has surrendered just 12 runs in 52 innings. The Bulldogs (14-0, 17-2) are 1AA West’s 3-seed and will host 6-seed Z-M (7-12).
