Bruce Kevin Mills, 71, of Spring Valley, Minn., passed away peacefully at his home. He was born on April 2, 1954, in Rochester, Minn., to Arlene Mills and George Balcoe III.
Bruce enlisted in the Navy in 1972 and was stationed in San Diego. After his discharge he returned to Rochester and worked various jobs before finishing his apprenticeship as a painter.
In 1985, Bruce married Robin Hughes, and together they had two sons before later divorcing in 1988. He married Karen Gatzke in 1990. They resided in Rochester until moving to Spring Valley in 2015.
Bruce is survived by his wife Karen, his sons Jason Hughes of Rochester, Minn., and Alan (Stephanie) Mills of Spring Valley; and grandchildren Lynnea, Harrison, Michael and Aiden.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother.
A private service will be held at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, Minn., on April 2, 2026.
