Rushford-Peterson’s boys had an eventful week. They won two games. Versus PEM, Chris Drinkall’s bunch authored a comeback to earn their 10th victory. Their senior shooter surpassed 1,000 career points. R-P first easily handled LeRoy-Ostrander 88-45. Dawson Bunke (20 pts, 5-8 threes, 5-5 FTs) and Will LaFleur (19 pts, 7-9 FGs, 5-7 threes) combined for 10 threes and 39 points. Landon Dahl (12 pts, 5 rebs), Carson Johnson (10 pts, 6-7 FTs), and Creighton Hoiness (10 pts, 5 asts) helped. L-O was led by their standout, Camden Hungerholt (17 pts, 4 stls), the son of R-P grad Aaron Hungerholt. Brayden Schaefer chipped in eight points. The Trojans hit 13 of 35 threes (37%), their fourth straight game with at least 13 made threes. It is R-P’s sixth game scoring 80-plus points (5-1). The Trojans then trailed PEM on the road 33-23 at the half, but out-scored the Bulldogs 49-27 in the second for a 72-60 win. It was R-P’s first over PEM since 2018 (five meetings). Bunke (24 pts, 4-8 threes, 6-8 FTs, 6 rebs, 4 asts) topped 1,000 points for his career. LaFleur (15 pts) and Carson J. (10 pts, 4 asts) also hit double figures. Cayden Lea (9 pts, 5-5 FTs) just missed. Over their last five games, R-P has hit 68 of 171 threes (40%), an average of 13.6 makes per game. The Trojans improved to 2-2 in the TRC, 10-3 overall. They are ranked #19 in Class A.
